Shopian police has launched a massive crackdown against the timber smugglers by arresting twenty-three timber smugglers including four notorious involved in a number of forest smuggling cases. Timber measuring 216.31 Cft has been recovered from these smugglers.
Today one notorious forest smuggler namely Gowhar Parray @ Setha son of Gulla Parray resident of Chowan Keller was booked under PSA and lodged in District Jail Kot Bilwal Jammu. Three other notorious Timber smugglers namely Shafi Ladi son of Alim Din resident of Nasarpora Keller, Riyaz Paswa son of Munshi Paswal, Sajad Paswal son of Talib Paswal residents of Shalidara have been booked under PSA in last 15 days.
